Goa Is Full: Parul Gulati Receives Flak For Buying House In Goa Only To Rent It Out On Airbnb

Actress and entrepreneur Parul Gulati has been on the receiving end of criticism after she revealed investing in a property in Goa only to put it on rental on Airbnb. Parul, who has been featured in web series like Girls Hostel, Selection Day and more, was trolled by a section of social media users for destroying the biodiversity of the beach state for commercial purposes.  

Parul Gulati reveals she has become a homeowner

Parul Gulati recently appeared on a podcast hosted by influencer Sharan Hegde and spoke about investing in real estate. The entrepreneur shared that she is currently paying EMIs for a recent property she bought in Goa. She added that the space will serve as an additional revenue stream for her. 

She shared that she has yet to pay the last instalment for the villa in Nerul, Goa. Parul asserted that once the villa, with a private pool, is complete she plans to put it on rent on Airbnb. She estimated that the 2BHK would yield her rent of ₹40,000 per day and she will promote it on Instagram to attract people to come on rent. She intends to call the villa, “Malkin’s House”. 

Why is Parul Gulati being trolled? 

A clip of the conversation from the podcast became viral on social media. Social media users took to the comment section of the video to share their outrage at the actress’ plan. The 29-year-old was accused of damaging the biodiversity and natural beauty of the beach town. 

One commenter wrote, “This is such a shame. Goan here. Our government officials insult us and we are disregarded when we ask for land communidade or otherwise. But these outsiders are getting villas.” Another mentioned, “Please destroy Goa ... the vibe, the forests, the hills and the land of my ancestors. Don't worry. Our politicians are with you. They don't care about Goa or Goans.” Another user criticised the actress for buying land in Goa for commercial purposes and wrote, “Forests of Goa are being destroyed just to please this kind of builder lobby. Everything good has been destroyed in Goa. Locals of Goa are fighting to protect Goa and this Madam wants to earn money from Goa while staying outside of Goa.” Parul Gulati is yet to react to the criticism.
