How Did Shefali Jariwala Die? AICWA Reveals Cause Of Death Of 'Kaanta Laga Girl'

Shefali Jariwala, best known for her role in the iconic music video, Kaanta Laga, breathed her last on the intervening night of June 27 and June 28. The actress was rushed to the Bellevue Multispeciality Hospital by her husband, where the doctors declared her dead on arrival. While the hospital and the family members are yet to issue an official statement on her passing, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has confirmed Shefali Jariwala's cause of death.

AICWA confirms Shefali Jariwala's cause of death

On June 28, the AICWA took to their official X (formerly Twitter) to post their remembrance for Shefali Jariwala. In the post, Cine Body shared a photo of the actress along with the caption, “Shefali Jariwala is no longer with us. Gone too soon at just 42 due to a sudden heart attack. It’s hard to believe she’s gone.” Their post confirms that Shefali Jariwala passed away from a heart attack.

Sources close to Mumbai police told ANI, “Actress Shefali Jariwala has passed away at the age of 42. Her body was found at her residence in the Andheri area of Mumbai." As per the publication, the mortal remains of the actress were found at her residence at 1 am, and the officials then transferred her body to the hospital. Details about her last rites and funeral services are yet to be made official.

When Shefali Jariwala said she wants to be known as ‘Kaanta Laga Girl' till she dies 

Shefali's claim to fame was her role in the 2002 music video of the remix of Kaanta Laga. She appeared in a role in Mujhse Shaadi Karoge and also participated in reality shows like Bigg Boss and Nach Baliye. Despite these feats, the actress continued to be addressed as the ‘Kaanta Laga Girl’. In a podcast with Paras Chhabra, Shefali expressed pride in this identity and shared, “There can only be one Kaanta Laga girl in the world, and that is me. I love it and I want to be known as the Kaanta Laga girl till the day I die.” The actress is survived by her husband, Parag Tyagi.
