Neha Kakkar Speaks Out After Melbourne Concert Fiasco, Blames Organisers: I Performed For Free, Band Denied Food And Water

Neha Kakkar has been making headlines after she arrived 3 hours late for her concert in Melbourne. The singer, on Thursday, penned a lengthy note revealing the reason behind her delay. "Do you all know that I performed absolutely Free for my Melbourne audience? The organisers ran away with my money and others too. My band was not even given food, hotel and even water. My husband and his boys went and provided them with food. In spite of all this, we still went on stage and did the show without any rest or anything because my fans were waiting for hours for me," she wrote.

Neha further shared that she had no idea if the concert was happening because the organisers had stopped picking up her calls. Sound check also played a role in the delay as her sound vendor refused to put on the sound as he was not paid by the organisers.

She concluded her post by thanking her fans for taking her stand: "I want to Thank all those people who spoke so beautifully for me, as if all this happened to them personally. I really appreciate all the efforts they all took to clarify my situation. I'm always gonna be thankful to all of them who attended my concert that day and cried with me and even danced their hearts out.  I can't thank my NeHearts enough for always standing up for me and everyone who supported me and gave me only Love. Thank you."

What happened with Neha Kakkar in Melbourne?

Several videos went viral on the internet that show Neha on the stage weeping and apologising for being late. In the video, she can be heard saying, "Guys, you are really sweet. You have been patient. Itni der se aap log wait kar rahe ho. I hate it, maine life mein kabhi kisi ko wait nahi karwaya hai. Aap itni der se wait kar rahe ho (You have been waiting for me for so long. I hate it, I have never made anyone wait in my life but you are waiting for me).” She concluded her speech by saying, "I’m so sorry! It means a lot to me. I will remember this evening forever. I will make sure that I will make you all dance."

Her apology didn't sit well with them, and in the background of the viral videos, they can be heard calling her "unprofessional". "Very good acting! Yeh Indian Idol nahi hai. Bachchon ke saath nahi gaa rahi ho," shouted another.

A concertgoer highlighted how she came in late and wrapped the concert in less than an hour, “Came to the stage at 10pm for a 7:30 show. Then doing drama of crying. Then wrapped up in less than an hour. Such a crap concert, heights of unprincipled." A Reddit user wrote, "Waapis hotel me in jaake soo jaao, very good acting, ye Indian idol nahi hain."

Before the Melbourne concert, Neha performed in Sydney on March 22 at Norwest Convention Centre, which went well.
