Sambhavna Seth Defends Sana Khan After Massive Backlash Over 'Burqa' Statement, Says 'No One Can Dictate My Clothing'

Sana Khan has been in the news after netizens trolled her for 'forcing' Sambhavna Seth to wear a burqa as according to her she was not properly dressed. However, now Seth has reacted to the backlash her 'friend' is getting. She took to her Instagram Stories where she addressed the hate towards Sana on the internet. She reminded the fans that it was just a "fun conversation" between her and Sana. They have been friends for a year and Sana invited her to her Ramadan special podcast. For the unversed, both are former Bigg Boss contestants but participated in separate seasons.

How did Sambhavna Seth react to netizens trolling Sana Khan?

Apart from reacting on Instagram Stories, she also spoke to India Forums and clarified, "The discussion was about how I had gained weight and my clothes were getting tight. In that context, Sana jokingly mentioned bringing a dupatta for me." Calling herself a 'Proud Hindu,' Sambhavana continued, "I am an individual who makes my own choices. No one can force me to wear a burqa or dictate my clothing. While I respect all religions, I am a proud Hindu and will not wear a burqa."

She further defended Sana and concluded by saying that had she known this conversation would take such a turn, resulting in Sana being trolled, then she would have never uploaded the video.

What did Sana Khan say to Sambhavna Seth that irked the netizens?

In the vlog posted by Sambhavana, they can be seen engaging in a fun banter, recalling their Bigg Boss days. However, when Sana was about to leave, she asked Sambhavna to wear proper clothes and then suggested she wear a burqa. "Tere paas ek acchi salwar kameez nahi hai... thappad chahiye? Where is your dupatta? Burqa laao... Sambhavna ko burqa pehnao" (You don’t have a good salwar kameez... Want a slap? Where is your dupatta? Bring a burqa... Make Sambhavna wear a burqa)," she said.

To this, Sambhavna replied, "Nothing else was fitting me because I have put on so much weight. I have gained almost 15 kgs. It’s fine. People will focus on what we say, not on our clothes. People will love us for who we are."

Soon after, netizens flooded the comment section bashing Sana Khan. A user wrote, "If sana wants people to accept her culture and her dressing sense. Then she should also respect others the way they are . Very regressive." Another wrote, "Honestly i hated how sana was imposing her thoughts on sambhavna's outfit...live and let others live."

Meanwhile, Sana Khan is yet to react to the social media backlash over her 'burqa' remark.
