Ranbir Kapoor is one of the most papped actors in the industry. The actor, who is currently gearing up for his film Ramayana, is often caught entering and exiting public places, production houses and friends’ residences. In a new interview, a popular paparazzi member Varinder Chawla recalled a time when the Animal actor threw the phone of his staff member for not requesting privacy. 

When Ranbir Kapoor lost his cool at paparazzi 

In a YouTube channel Hindi Rush, paparazzi member Varinder Chawla spoke about the time Ranbir Kapoor lost his cool at the media personnel for not respecting his privacy. He recalled the incident that took place 10-12 years ago. He remembered the actor schooling the media for following him in the middle of the night without his consent. 

Varinder shared, “About 10- 12 years ago. One of my photographers was following him at night for a picture. Ranbir was going somewhere, I don’t know where he was exactly going but he stopped his car and asked the guy what he was doing, why he was following him and asked him, who he works for. He snatched his phone and told him, go ask your boss to talk to me. So he called me from another number and said ‘Ranbir Kapoor has taken my phone.” He recalled speaking to Ranbir personally following the event. He then added, “He answered my call and scolded me. He then called me back around 2.30-3.00 am and told me that he is returning home and that my boy can take his phone back. He was angry but later on he cooled down and told us to respect his privacy.”

When Rishi Kapoor graciously stepped in to pose in his son Ranbir Kapoor’s absence 

In the same conversation, Varinder also recalled a time when members of his team were waiting for Ranbir Kapoor to come out of his house for over 6 hours. He mentioned that his father and veteran actor Rishi Kapoor graced the photographers with photos on the occasion. He said, “It was late in the night. Rishi sir might have seen him on his CCTV camera. He came out of his house, he had a glass in his hand and asked him why he was sitting around. So my photographer replied to him by saying that he was there to click Ranbir’s photo.”

He then shared that the Do Dooni Chaar actor stepped out and volunteered to take his picture instead. He added, “Rishi said that he won’t come out now. But my photographer was adamant, he said he wants his photo, so Rishi said, ‘He won’t come out, you click my picture and leave’. Then when my photographer told me what had happened, I told him ‘teri kismat acchi thi (you are lucky), he must be in a good mood that he spoke to you so much otherwise you’d get two three slaps from him.”
