Ratan Tata Dies: The veteran industrialist and a national legend breathed his last at the age of 86 on October 9. Following his demise, tributes flooded in from all parts of the world with celebrities from all walks of life expressing their grief. Amid this pop popular Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh made a special mention of the business tycoon at his live show in Germany.
Diljit Dosanjh remembers the legacy of Ratan Tata
On October 9 Diljit Dosanjh performed in Germany as a part of his ongoing Dil-luminati tour. The singer stopped his concert midway to address the demise of the Indian businessman and heaped praises for his simplicity and hard work. The Lover hitmaker took a minute to pay tribute to the industrialist who built the salt-to-software conglomerate and dedicated the show to him.
In Punjabi, Diljit Dosanjh could be heard saying, “You all know about Ratan Tata. He has passed away. This is my small tribute to him. Today, I feel it is important to take his name because of his life — he has always worked hard. Whatever I have heard and read of him, I have never seen him speak anything wrong about anyone." He also added that the life led by Ratan Tata is exemplary and inspiration worthy. He added “He has always worked hard in his life, did good work, was helpful. This is life, this is how one should be. If there is one thing we can learn from his life, it is that we should work hard, think positive, be helpful and live life to its fullest."
Ratan Tata passes away at 86
Tata Group’s chairman emeritus and veteran industrialist Ratan Tata died at a Mumbai hospital late on Wednesday night. Tata, who led the salt-to-software conglomerate to new heights, was 86. A recipient of Padma Vibhushan, he breathed his last at south Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital at 11.30 pm, a top police official told PTI. He was admitted to the hospital for the past few days.
In a statement, Tata's family said, "We his brothers, sisters, and family take solace and comfort in the outpouring of love and respect from all who admired him. While he is no longer with us in person, his legacy of humility, generosity and purpose will continue to inspire future generations." In a statement, Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran said, "It is with a profound sense of loss that we bid farewell to Ratan Naval Tata, a truly uncommon leader whose immeasurable contributions have shaped not only the Tata Group but also the very fabric of our nation.”
