Avengers Doomsday: Not Spider-Man, Dr Strange Or Deadpool, But These Marvel Heros Join Robert Downey Jr Starrer

Marvel Studios has finally introduced the cast of Avengers: Doomsday. The lineup includes Vanessa Kirby, Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr., and Anthony Mackie, along with some new superheroes joining the iconic Marvel franchise. The much-awaited announcement was made during a livestream on Marvel's social media channels earlier today. However, some fan-favourite Avengers are sadly missing from this upcoming instalment whereas some new characters have been introduced.

Avengers: Doomsday is set to hit cinemas on May 1, 2026. According to the Variety site, old cast members who have been returning for Avengers: Doomsday include Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier, Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson/Captain America, and Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man. Robert Downey Jr., who bid farewell to the franchise in Avengers: Endgame, will reappear as a new character, Victor von Doom/Doctor Doom.

On the other side, some of the popular stars joining the MCU for the first time including Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Letitia Wright as Shuri, Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, and Wyatt Russell as John Walker/US Agent.

Obviously, not every character is expected to feature in Avengers: Doomsday. As seen in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, some characters take centre stage while others step aside. Below we have ten characters whom fans expected and would make perfect sense for this epic team-up film but will not be appearing.

Who are the Marvel stars missing from Avengers: Doomsday

Tom Holland plays Spider-Man, Benedict Cumberbatch portrays Dr Strange, Ryan Reynolds takes on the role of Deadpool, and Brie Larson stars as Captain Marvel are the most loved characters who will not be seen in Avengers: Doomsday. 

Since the announcement, Teyonah Parris as Photon, Chris Pratt as Star-Lord, and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk. Jeremy Renner plays Hawkeye, Hugh Jackman is Wolverine, and Elizabeth Olsen portrays Scarlet Witch were much awaited but will not be part of this instalment.
