Legendary pop star of the '50s and '60s, Connie Francis, passed away at the age of 87. The exact cause of her death is still uncertain. The veteran is known for her timeless hits like Pretty Little Baby, Stupid Cupid, and Who’s Sorry Now. The Hollywood singer breathed her last on July 16, just a few days after being hospitalised due to reported ‘extreme pelvic pain’. Her long-time friend, Ron Robert, confirmed the tragic news through a statement on Facebook to inform the iconic musician’s fans of her passing.

Ron Roberts, a close friend of Connie Francis and president of her record label, Concetta Records, shared the heartbreaking news on Facebook.
"It is with a heavy heart and extreme sadness that I inform you of the passing of my dear friend Connie Francis last night. I know that Connie would approve that her fans are among the first to learn of this sad news. More details will follow later," the post read. Connie Francis' official Facebook page also shared the message.
Although the exact cause of her death remains unknown, Francis had recently told her fans that she had been hospitalised in early July after suffering from severe pain and was undergoing tests.

She had also cancelled her scheduled appearance on a popular Independence Day show, suggesting her health issues might have been linked to previous hip treatment. In her final Facebook post on 4 July, she sounded hopeful: "Today I am feeling much better after a good night, and wanted to take this opportunity to wish you all a happy Fourth of July."
