Jamie Dornan weighs in on action being a male-dominated genre
During an interaction with a leading international publication, Jamie Dornan opened up about the kind of films he was looking to take up. The Fifty Shades of Grey actor revealed how he wanted to strive to be a part of more female-centric movies, particularly in the action genre. He also said that the genre itself has been male-centric for way too long. Further adding to the statement candidly, he shared how he was actually excited to take a back seat and simply support Gal who is leading Heart of Stone.
The actor said, "I feel like I want to be a supporter of female-led movies where I can. I think in this genre particularly, its probably been too male-driven for a long time and there's not just a little bit of room for female-led action. There's a lot of room and Gal's been at the forefront of paving the way for that in recent years. I'm very happy to be by her side in this one and watch women kick ass and kick ass myself, of course."
