Jailer Box Office Collection: Rajinikanth film to enter Rs 600 crore club today

In its second week, Jailer witnessed a decline in its box office collection. Starting off strong with an impressive Rs 19.2 crore on its second Sunday, the film's earnings dropped to 70% during the weekdays, with collections in single digits. After a comparatively slow week, Jailer saw an uptick in its box office collections on its third Saturday. Here's how the Rajinikanth starrer fared on its 17th day.

Despite decline, Jailer remains stable in 3rd week

According to Sacnilk, Jailer raked in Rs 5.50 crore on its third Saturday. Its cumulative domestic collection now stands at Rs 307.70 crore. The film maintained an overall 50% occupancy in Tamil Nadu and a 34.03% overall occupancy in the Telugu market. 

As per trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan, Jailer is now inching towards Rs 600 crore club. Within two weeks, the film grossed over Rs 500 crore worldwide. Its current total stands at Rs 597.04 crore.

Jailer v/s Gadar 2 v/s OMG 2

Rajinikanth's Jailer, which was released a day before OMG 2 and Gadar 2, has earned Rs 307.70 crore at the domestic box office so far. Meanwhile, Gadar 2 starring Sunny Deol has collected Rs 438.70 crore crore in just 16 days of its release. OMG 2 also maintained a steady pace and earned close to Rs 130 crore despite being given an A certificate by CBFC. 

Meanwhile, Jailer revolves around Rajinikanth's character, who is driven by the desire to avenge the death of his son, a police officer. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures, the film also stars Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Sunil Varma, Yogi Babu and Vasanth Ravi in pivotal roles. The movie also features Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar and Jackie Shroff.
