Rishab Shetty starrer Kantara 2 producer reveals film's release date

The second installment in the Kantara franchise, which will be a prequel to the original film, is currently underway. A teaser for the film, titled Kantara A Legend Chapter - 1, was released late last month. The teaser, in question, has been received well by the audience adding to the hype surrounding the film. With Kantara emerging as a pan-India project, there is much conjecture surrounding when the film will be presented to the audience. Producer Vijay Kiragandur has recently shed some light on the same.

Kantara producer hints at potential release date for film prequel

There is a lot that is known about the Kantara prequel, currently in the making, owing to actor-director Rishab Shetty's transparent demeanour with his fans and audience. It is already known that Shetty, just like in the original movie, will be acting and directing the prequel.

Additionally, there will be many familiar faces from the original cast, returning for the prequel. This courtesy also extends itself to the crew, with Ajaneesh Loknath returning as music director for Kantara A Legend Chapter - 1. In a recent interview, producer Vijay Kiragandur revealed some details about the film. He shared how ideally, team Kantara would like to push out the film by the last quarter of 2024 or the first quarter of 2025.

Rishabh Shetty says Kantara introduced him to the entire country

Rishab Shetty recently spoke at IFFI 2023 which saw the actor muse on how Kantara essentially introduced him to the whole country.  Shetty described himself as somebody who only performs for his Kannada audience.

He said, "I’m very happy and I consider it a responsibility. This is my first film for an audience outside my industry. Before that, I was working in Kannada films for many years. It’s a film wonder. Kantara introduced me to the entire country and gave me so much love and respect. So thanks to Kantara and the audience..."
