On March 18, Garosero Research Institute (HoverLab) shared a video that allegedly shows the actors spending time together at Kim Sae-Ron’s home. This video surfaced after Kim Soo-Hyun’s agency, Gold Medalist, denied any past romantic involvement between him and Kim Sae-Ron during her teenage years.

In the clip, Kim Sae-Ron appears to be using a massage device on her back while chatting casually with Kim Soo-Hyun, who seems to be recording her. Translations from fan accounts reveal her asking the Queen of Tears actor, “Are you filming me?"

Garosero Research Institute has stated that unless Kim Soo-Hyun publicly apologises to Kim Sae-Ron’s grieving family, they may consult with her relatives and consider releasing more videos, which allegedly show clearer footage of his face.

What is Kim Soo-Hyun and Kim Sae Ron's controversy about?

Sae-ron died by suicide at her home in Seoul on 16 February. After her funeral, her family alleged that Soo Hyun had been in a relationship with the actress when he was in his 30s, while she was only 15. The controversy grew after her family shared past messages from Kim Sae-ron’s phone to challenge Gold Medalist’s denials.

The messages, dated 13 August 2018, allegedly show Kim Soo-hyun asking Sae-ron to delete their KakaoTalk chats and communicate through Telegram instead. The texts reportedly include lines such as, “Are you really going to delete all our chats like this??" “This is a call," and “Pick up." Sae-ron’s family claims these messages contradict the agency’s statement that no relationship existed while she was underage.

As tensions rise, the bereaved family has expressed their willingness to seek forensic analysis of photos to support their claims that Kim Soo-Hyun and Kim Sae-Ron were involved when she was still a minor. Now on this, Soompi reported a statement from GOLDMEDALIST, asserting that the man in the 2017 photo at Sae-Ron's apartment was not Soo-Hyun. The agency also accused the late actor's family of spreading false information about him.
