It is Eid Al Adha and on this occasion, Mammootty offered prayers at a Masjid in Kochi. A video is going viral on the Internet that shows the veteran Malayalam actor greeting his fans outside Salafi Juma Masjid.
Mammootty offers prayer at Salafi Juma Masjid
An official X handle of ANI shared a video of Mammooty dressed in a white floral shirt paired traditional Islamic cap, saying "bye" to the paparazzi stationed at the venue. "Ernakulam, Kerala: On the occasion of #EidAlAdha festival, actor Mammootty visits Salafi Juma Masjid in Kochi," read the caption.
Mammootty is currently basking in the success of his recently released movie Turbo. The movie earned mixed-to-positive reviews from critics and became a commercial success at the box office. On its opening day Turbo earned ₹6.25 crore from Kerala, making it the highest opening-day gross for a Malayalam film in 2024. In its first week, it grossed ₹58 crore worldwide, ₹29.5 crore from India and ₹28.5 crore from overseas. The movie has so far grossed an impressive ₹70 crore.
Meanwhile, the buzz is that Disney Plus Hotstar has acquired the film’s digital rights. However, the makers are yet to announce the same.
What's next for Mammootty?
The veteran star will be next seen in Bazooka, a game action-thriller helmed by debutant Deeno Dennis. The movie also stars Gautham Vasudev Menon, Babu Antony, Divya Pillai and Gayathiri Iyer, in supporting roles. The movie is currently in the post-production stage and the makers are yet to announce the release date. He also has Kadugannawa Oru Yatra in the pipeline. The actor has completed the shooting, but more updates regarding the movie are still under wraps.
