L2 Empuraan, starring Mohanlal and Prithviraj Sukumaran, has finally hit the theatres today, March 27. A few hours into the theatres, the movie creates a heavy social media buzz. Movie buffs who watched the early show of the movie have flooded the X with their reviews, and so far, there are mixed reviews. A few fans also addressed the recent accusation of corporate booking and said, " Kerala has accepted Empuraan".
The movie buffs are calling L2 Empuraan a “blockbuster,” with everyone lauding the performance of actors in the movie, including Mohanlal and Prithviraj. However, some are disappointed with the second installment of Lucifer. A user wrote, "With the expectations and humongous presales #L2E had makers failing to satisfy was a big letdown. Can't digest Murali Gopy changed the whole classy Lucifer into a template revenge drama. The music department was also underwhelming when compared to the predecessor. Despite a solid Lalettan & 2 Good episodes, this was a Mixed Bag." The user called the movie "Average".
Another user reviews Empuraan in one word, "Entertainment", and expressed excitement for the third installment. A fan shared a few stills from the movie and wrote, "Whatever haters say, Kerala has accepted Empuraan. Empuraan has clicked with the audience. It’s over for the haters."
"That Cameo & Tail End #EMPURAAN - BLOCKBUSTER," wrote a movie buff. A fan lauded the second half of the movie and wrote, "I Couldn't Control Myself Guy's.. My Vein's Exploded from the Initial Moments. LITREALLY KATHIKKALL"
A user shared that Empuraan was not up to the mark compared to Lucifer. Also, the cameos were not very impactful. "Good Commercial Entertainer. Second Half >>> First Half Deepak Dev Music. But something is missing compared to Lucifer ( part 1 )... Special appearance's Okayish," the user wrote.
The action thriller is headed for a record-breaking opening, but it has been observed that almost half of its collection in pre-sales is through “blocked seats”. This hints that the makers of the Mohanlal starrer are indulging in corporate bookings to fuel the box office collections. Internet users have been trolling the L2: Empuraan team for unfair practices to boost collections, but as the corporate bookings neared its actual biz through advance sales, many were left disappointed.
According to Sacnilk, L2: Empuraan has collected ₹10.13 crore in all languages in India through advance bookings. However, with blocked seats, the number touches₹19 crore.
