Malaikottai Vaaliban: New poster of Mohanlal starrer promises high-voltage battlefield action

Mohanlal who is riding high on the success of his recently released movie Neru is all set for an exciting kickoff in 2024 with his upcoming film Malaikottai Vaaliban. This Malayalam actioner is touted to be set in the backdrop of a war drama and will hit the screens on January 25th next year.

Just a day after a thrilling poster from the movie was leaked online, the makers have officially released the same. The poster gives a sneak peek into the action-packed saga, featuring Mohanlal among others. The actor can be seen getting ready for action and holding a handful of sand with an intense and fierce look.

Dressed in a wrestler-inspired outfit, Mohanlal's unique appearance hints at an epic action drama.

Malaikottai Vaaliban crew

Directed by the visionary Lijo Jose Pellissery and scripted by P. S. Rafeeque, Malaikottai Vaaliban is set to be a period-action drama. It features an ensemble cast of actors including Sonalee Kulkarni as Murugurukathi, Hareesh Peradi as Kelu Mallan, Danish Sait as Karamba Tholaar, Manikandan R. Achari as Thamaran, Hariprashanth Varma's Porashari Mallan, and Katha Nandi as Madhanagi.

Neru marks Mohanlal’s revival in showbiz after a series of back-to-back flops including Monster, Aarattu and Alone. Directed by Jeethu Joseph, Neru is a court drama that has garnered praise from audiences, earning over Rs 39.5 crores so far. Neru is the fourth collaboration between Jeethu Joseph and Mohanlal after Drishyam and 12th Man.

When Mohanlal said he was uncertain about the success of Drishyam

Drishyam was a milestone in Mohanlal’s career which made him spike to pan-India fame and success. Recently while promoting Neru, the actor was heard saying “I never thought of making a career in films. But it happened” and that he had no idea that Drishyam ‘would be so successful’.
