Mammootty starrer action film Turbo is doing well at the box office after its release on May 23. After 8 days of its theatrical run, the film has minted ₹53.55 crore, according to Sacnilk. Turbo is preforming well both in India and internationally, with its collections divided equally in the domestic market and abroad. Malayalam cinema has been enjoying a good run at the cinema halls and Turbo will be one of the additions to the hit list this year.

Turbo box office run detailed

After getting a good opening of ₹6.25 crore on day 1 and minting ₹18 crore in its 4-day extended weekend, Turbo collections declined over the first week. While the numbers witnessed a major drop, they remained steady and in the range of ₹1.4 crore -2.0 crore. In India, Turbo has collected ₹29.05 crore gross. Most of its collections have come in from Malayalam language, with other languages contributing very less.

What is Turbo about?

Turbo stars Mammootty in the starring role. According to IMDb, the logline of the movie reads, "Jose, a jeep driver from Idukki gets in trouble and is forced to relocate to Chennai where he gets entangled with Indhu and his best friend, Jerry. A bunch of surprises in the form of Vetrivel and others await Jose in Chennai."

The film has witnessed limited release outside the Malayalam market. It is directed by Vysakh and also stars Raj B Shetty and Sunil.
