Nayanthara is one of the most popular stars in India. The actress, who has otherwise appeared in Malayalam, Telugu and Tamil films, featured in Atlee’s Jawan. But many may not know that the 'Lady Superstar' started her career as a TV show host.

Prior to her eventual debut in the film industry, the actress was part of a show called Chamayam. On the show, she was an anchor who would present fashion and beauty tips. One of the clips from her show has currently gone viral, with several people finding it impossible to believe that it was Nayanthara in the clip.
Nayanthara’s rise throughout the years
After making her debut, the actress went on to appear in prominent films. She appeared alongside Mohanlal in Vismayathumbathu (2004) only a year after making her debut. Subsequently, Nayanthara appeared in the 2005 film Chandramukhi, which also featured Jyothika and Rajinikanth. She has worked alongside the likes of Suriya, Mammootty, Sarath Kumar, Dhanush, Jr NTR, Dileep, Nandamuri Balakrishna, Rana Daggubati and more.

The actress eventually tied the knot with filmmaker Vignesh Shivan. She also became the only South Indian actress in the Forbes’ Indian Celebrity 100 list in 2018. Nayanthara will be seen next in the film Iraivan. The mystery thriller is directed by I Ahmed and features Ponniyin Selvan II star Jayam Ravi as a cop. Actor Rahul Bose also plays a prominent role in the film. It will release on September 28.
