Orry In Hot Water! Sanatan Dharam Sabha Kishtwar Demands Action Against Hotel

Orry Vaishno Devi Drinking Controversy: Orhan Awatramani is falling into deep trouble since Jammu & Kashmir Police filed a complaint against him and his 7 friends for violation law. In a recent development, Sanatan Dharam Sabha Kishtwar, Thakur Randeep Bhandari, has written to SSP Kishtwar urging to register an FIR against the offenders, including hotel owners. He called the act of consuming alcohol in Katra (where it's banned) "shameful" and urged the government to take strict action against the hotel. "Strict action should be taken against them despite knowing it is prohibited," he said.

Meanwhile, since the row has erupted, Orry and his friend Cherry Sin, who organised the trip have gone off the radar. According to J&K Police, they tried to call on their phones, but at first, it went unanswered. Later, both the phones were turned off.

Vaishno Devi Chief Priest condemns Orry

The Chief Priest of the Vaishno Devi temple Padma Shri Prof. Vaishva Murti Shastri spoke to the Republic regarding the complete disregard of rules and violation of laws by Orry aka Orhan Awatramani. Speaking to Republic Media Network, Prof. Shastri said, “Vaishno Devi shrine is a pure place. To be under the influence of drugs or alcohol in such a place is prohibited. All officials of the shrine bride have sternly stated that no one is allowed to consume, carry or talk about alcoholic beverages around the shrine. Despite this, if people are carrying alcohol on the premises, then it is a matter of great concern.” He specified that warnings against the consumption of meat and alcoholic beverages were displayed across the shrine, yet it was ignored.

Protesters also demand strict action against Orry

In the videos from the protest, the activists can be seen burning posters with Orry's photos on them. Some protestors were also seen thrashing the influencer's photos with chappals as a mark of their dissent against his actions. Speaking to Republic, President of the Dogra Front, Ashok Gupta shared, “Why is the hotel (where Orry stayed) not being questioned? Someone from the hotel served alcohol and non-veg to the group. The hotel should be banned. Such places that destroy the sanctity of Katra must also be held responsible. Orry does not need to be served notice, he has disrespected the purity of the Vaishno Devi shrine, he must be arrested with immediate effect. Mata VaishnoDevi does not need such devotees. The hotel must be shut down immediately.”

He also reprimanded the hotel for taking more than 24 hours to notify the police and claimed that stringent action must be taken against them.
