Orry Vaishno Devi Drinking Case: The socialite and influencer was booked by the Jammu and Kashmir police for allegedly consuming alcohol at a hotel in Katra, the base camp for the pilgrimage to Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Reasi district. An FIR was registered against him and seven others for "violating the law of the land" and a team was set up to nab them for "hurting the sentiments of people". However, the group fled town and has been untraceable since then. Now, Shive Sena UBT members staged a protest at Jammu against the 29-year-old.

Shiv Sena stages protest against Orry

On March 18, a section of the Shiv Sena UBT staged a protest in Jammu against Orry and his group who consumed alcohol and non-vegetarian meal in Katra. Shiv Sena J&K President Manish Sahni demanded the immediate arrest of Orry. He reasoned that the socialite influencer had “hurt the religious sentiments" of several Hindus. He also alleged that consuming alcohol in the holy city where Mata VaishnoDevi is worshipped is an open challenge to the Hindu faith. He added that the police must take strict action “without any pressure”.

In the video from the protest, the Shiv Sena members can be seen holding Orry's photos In their hands and chanting slogans against him. The protest comes after the Dogra front members staged a protest against the hotel and Orry.

On the morning of March 18, the activists of the Dogra front in Jammu and Kashmir staged a protest against Orry and his friends for violating the “law of the land”. Speaking to Republic, President of the Dogra Front, Ashok Gupta shared, “Why is the hotel (where Orry stayed) not being questioned? Someone from the hotel served alcohol and non-veg to the group. The hotel should be banned. Such places that destroy the sanctity of Katra must also be held responsible. Orry does not need to be served notice, he has disrespected the purity of the Vaishno Devi shrine, and he must be arrested with immediate effect. Mata VaishnoDevi does not need such devotees. The hotel must be shut down immediately.” In the videos from the protest, the activists can be seen burning posters with Orry's photos on them. Some protestors were also seen thrashing the influencer's photos with chappals as a mark of their dissent against his actions.
