Foe, starring Saoirse Ronan and Paul Mescal, debuted in theatres on October 6. After 3 months of its release, the film is now all set to foray into OTT platform Prime Video. Directed by Garth Davis, Foe is a psychological sci-fi drama, that unfolds in a near-future dystopia.

When is Foe releasing on OTT?

Foe will premiere on Prime Video on January 5 and can be viewed with an Amazon Prime subscription. Saoirse Ronan plays Henrietta in the film, while Paul Mescal plays her husband Junior.

In the dystopian future depicted in the movie, humanity faces extinction and harsh climate change unless a different course of action is taken. The future is lifeless and dry. However, it then focuses on Junior and Henrietta's marriage rather than the existential crises that the populace is experiencing as a whole.

A husband and wife team named Junior and Henrietta, who reside on a remote farm approximately forty years in the future. A stranger named Terrance (Aaron Pierre) makes an unexpected offer to the couple. He suggests that Junior spend some years in space helping to pilot a program that helps humanity move away from living on the failing Earth.

A Black Mirror-style twist to this idea is that Junior is replaced by a robot who stays and looks after Henrietta while he is away. Similar to the science fiction Netflix series, Junior's space flight causes Henrietta to be left with his android lookalike, and things swiftly spiral out of control.
