Ananya Panday Recreates Sidharth Malhotra-Kiara Advani's Viral Wedding Moment In Call Me Bae

Ananya Panday has made her web series debut with the show Call Me Bae which premiered on Prime Video on September 6. The show narrates a riches-to-rags story of the protagonist. While several things from the show have got a conversation stirred up online, one particular scene in the series has gone viral. In the scene, which is part of a song, the actress can be seen giving an ode to Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani by recreating their wedding video.

In the first episode of the show, Ananya Panday's character is shown to get married to Agastya (played by Vihaan Samat), a big business heir. What caught social media users' attention in the sequence was the actress' character's bridal entry in the scene which was the same as Kiara in her actual wedding to Sidharth Malhotra in 2023. Several videos have shared a scene-by-scene edit of the two videos comparing how it seems to be a direct reference.

While some netizens were furious for the scenes, others defended it. A user wrote, "Itne pyare moment the Yeh ananya itni overacting kyu karti hain" Another wrote, "W** 😭😭 @DharmaMovies shadi to chor dete #sidkiara wedding" Fans of the couple also defended the show by writing, "Am I the only one who is okay with it? I mean it kinda shows that #SidKiara 's wedding was so iconic and talk of the town that even big families took inspiration and copied it." Nevertheless, the scene is now viral on social media.

This is not the first time the iconic wedding video of the Shershah couple. Earlier in May 2023, in an interview with Aishwarya Mohanraj for the promotion of his movie Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar, Ranbir Kapoor was asked about the reels he watches. The Animal actor revealed that after the birth of Raha, his daughter with wife Alia Bhatt , his phone is filled with baby videos and Instagram reels also show videos of children’s interests. The interviewer then asked him about the viral wedding video of Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani.

Ranbir Kapoor opined that he finds the wedding video of Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani cute. He then re-enacted the part where the Shershaah actor looks at his watch while Kiara walks towards him. Fans of the actor have appreciated him for the gesture.

Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani tied the knot in 2023. Their wedding took place on February 7 at the Suryagarah Palace, Jaisalmer. Several celebrities attended the wedding, including Kiara's Kabir Singh co-star Shahid Kapoor, his wife Mira Rajput, Juhi Chawla, her husband Jay Mehta, and Kiara's childhood friend Isha Ambani and her husband Anand Piramal.
