Neil Nitin Mukesh, who has been away from the big screen for four years now, is returning with Sundeep Kishan starrer Maaya One. It is the sequel to the sci-fi thriller Maayavan, helmed by CV Kumar. The sequel also stars Akansha Ranjan Kapoor in the lead.

On Saturday, CV Kumar took to his X (formerly Twitter) handle to welcome Neil Nitin Mukesh to the world of Maaya One. It is the actor's second Tamil film after debuting with Thalapathy Vijay starrer Kaththi in 2014. The director shared the first look poster of the actor and wrote, "Glad to welcome aboard the versatile actor @NeilNMukesh to the world of #MaayaOne."

More about Maaya One

The film marks the Tamil debut of Akansha, who was primarily seen in Hindi films and web series such as Guilty and Monica, O My Darling. It will be produced by AK Entertainment. The film will be shot in both Tamil and Telugu languages and is being planned to be wrapped up around February or March 2024. Santhosh Narayanan will be composing the music for the sequel.

Maayavan released in 2017 opened to average reviews at Chennai Box Office. The film starred Sundeep Kishan and Lavanya Tripathi in the lead roles while Jackie Shroff, Daniel Balaji, Mime Gopi, R. Amarendran, Bagavathi Perumal, and Jayaprakash played supporting roles.

The actor will be returning to theatres after 4 years of hiatus. The actor was last seen in the 2019 film Bypass Road, which was directed by his younger brother Naman and written by Neil. The film also featured Adah Sharma and Shama Sikander in lead roles. It was a sleeper hit and grossed above Rs15 crore against the budget of Rs 7 crore.
