Vettaiyan: Rajinikanth To Play Encounter Specialist In TJ Gnanavel Directorial?

Rajinikanth has been busy shooting for his upcoming movie Vettaiyan. Helmed by TJ Gnanavel, the movie is a mix of action, and emotional drama and would give out a social message. There are speculations that Rajnikanth might be playing the role of encounter specialist in it.

Details of Rajnikanth's role in Vettaiyan revealed? 

According to media reports, Rajnikanth will be portraying the role of a “trigger-happy” cop in Vettaiyan. The film will reportedly revolve around a scam in online education that became topical some time ago. 

A source said about the film's plot, “Politicians alleged hundreds of crores of scam in tablets distributed by a startup company at inflated prices and caused huge losses to people”. The source has reportedly claimed that Rajnikanth liked the concept of the film and wanted to do a project with a social message.

Vettaiyan to release on Dussehra, won’t clash with Kanguva 

At the audio launch event of Meiyazhagan, Suriya officially announced that his much-awaited movie Kanguva is postponed. He showered praises on Rajinikanth and said, “On October 10, Vettaiyan is coming. We should give way to the film out of respect. He [Rajinikanth] is senior to me. He came to act when I was born. He has been an identity of Tamil cinema for over 50 years. I think it’s best if Superstar’s film comes out first. I believe you will be with me.”

While Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina action starrer Jigra will release in theatres on October 11.

All About Vettaiyan

Apart from Rajinikanth, the Vettaiyan also stars an ensemble cast that includes  Amitabh Bachchan , Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh and Dushara Vijayan. It marks the reunion of Rajini and Big B after decades. 

The film has music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, cinematography handled by SR Kathir and editing by Philomin Raj. Vettaiyan is being bankrolled by Subaskaran Allirajah under Lyca Productions. The film will release on October 10.
