Vijay is collaborating with director Venkat Prabhu on the film GOAT, which is now in its final production stages. The makers are employing various modern techniques for this high-budget drama, including the use of AI to recreate the late actor Vijayakanth for a particular sequence. This AI-generated appearance has generated significant excitement among fans who are eager to see Vijayakanth on the big screen once more.
Premalatha, Vijayakanth's wife, previously confirmed his involvement in the film, highlighting the strong bond between the two stars. Recently, Vijayakanth's son, Vijay Prabhakaran, disclosed his father's screen time in GOAT during a YouTube chat with Galatta.
He mentioned that Vijayakanth would appear for one minute in the movie, which stars Vijay and is directed by Venkat Prabhu. Vijay Prabhakaran also talked about meeting Vijay for the first time at his father's funeral and shared the mutual respect between his father and Vijay's father, director SA Chandrasekhar.
Fans are eagerly anticipating Vijayakanth's brief but significant appearance in the film, which promises a surprising sequence involving both Vijay and Vijayakanth. 'GOAT' is scheduled for a grand pan-Indian release on September 5, with versions in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi.
In an interview with Galatta, Premalatha Vijayakanth revealed that her husband, Captain Vijayakanth, will once again return to the big screens. He will be seen in a crucial scene alongside Thalapathy Vijay in The Greatest of All Time. Premalatha further revealed that Venkat Prabhu visited her home multiple times to ask for her consent to use the AI version of Vijayakanth in GOAT.
She said, "Venkat Prabhu visited our house 4-5 times and had several rounds of talks with my son. He also requested him to meet me, adding that Vijay wanted to meet me in person. Thinking from Captain's point of view and what he would have said. He always loved Vijay and his father, SA Chandrasekhar. I know how Captain loved them both. If Captain was alive, he would never say no."
