Popular TV show Ye Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai has been making headlines ever since rumours about the show-runners planning a 20-year leap in the storyline started surfacing online. The speculations about a time leap also meant that there would be possible changes in the cast. However, the show creator Rajan Shahi has now offered his comments on the said speculations about the new cast of the iconic show.

According to a recent report by Pinkvilla, it was also rumoured that Harshad Chopda was planning to quit the show. However, speaking to the online portal Tellychakkar, the show’s creator Rajan Shahi confirmed that he has no plans to replace the lead actors as of now or make any changes in the primary cast of the show. Meanwhile, a source closely attached to the show informed Republic Digital that the discussions for a time-leap are in the middle and that nothing has been locked yet on the scripting level.

Ye Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai currently stars Pranali Rathore and Harshad Chopra in the lead. The two, playing Akshara and Abhimanyu, have gradually emerged as one of the most popular romantic pairs on Television. The star duo is commonly referred to as Abhira. 

Ye Rishta Kya Kehlta Hai will soon complete 15 years

Ye Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai completes 15 years of on-air running next year in January. If the rumours are true, this leap will mark the 10th leap in the iconic show’s trajectory. The show had made actors like Hina Khan a household name, who played Akshara when the show began its journey in 2009. Rajan Shahi is also the producer of the Star Plus show Anupamaa, which is present one of the most popular TV shows on air.
