Baahubali star Sathyaraj Reveals Why Prabhas Is 'Restricted' To Larger-Than-Life Roles

Sathyaraj revealed why Prabhas works only in larger-than-life films, which is break from his early filmography. He will next feature in Kalki 2898 AD.

Sathyaraj worked with Prabhas in the Baahubali franchise, directed by SS Rajamouli. Before the release of the two-part movie series, Prabhas was a regional star but its success propelled him to international stardom. Now, every Prabhas project is mounted on a huge scale and fan expectations are also high from it. In a new interview, Sathyaraj revealed why Prabhas works only in larger-than-life films, which is break from his early filmography.

Sathyaraj reasoned that Prabhas used to do rom coms before but after the release of Baahubali, he is "restricted" to taking on larger-than-life roles. He put Thalapathy Vijay too in the leagues of the Salaar star when it comes to picking movies.

"Due to their stardom, Prabhas and Vijay are now limited to taking on only big films. Before Baahubali, Prabhas acted in romantic films, but now he is restricted to larger-than-life roles," Sathyaraj said.

Prabhas to be seen in Maruthi's horror comedy

While Prabhas has been featuring in big-budget action films for a few years, barring Radhe Shyam (2022), he is all set to return to the romantic comedy genre in Maruthi's next, titled The Raja Saab. The movie is expected to be a treat for fans who have been longing to see Prabhas in his vintage avatar that made him popular in the first place.

Meanwhile, his next is Nag Ashwin's Kalki 2898 AD. Part one of the two film series will hit the big screens on June 27. It also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani.
