Fahadh Faasil, Allu Arjun Reasons Behind Pushpa 2 Delay, ₹35 Crore Loss To Makers
The first installment, released in late 2021, was a theatrical success, prompting the makers to quickly start on the sequel.
Pushpa 2, starring Allu Arjun, is one of the most highly-anticipated Indian films. Despite the strong buzz, fans have been repeatedly disappointed by delays. The movie, initially slated for release on Independence Day, has faced multiple postponements, with the latest delay reportedly due to Fahadh Faasil.
Why did the makers of Pushpa delay the release date of the film?
The first installment, released in late 2021, was a theatrical success, prompting the makers to quickly start on the sequel. Although the scripting process and preliminary work began early, the actual filming commenced later than expected. Once filming started, it encountered several delays, including Allu Arjun's illness and director Sukumar reshooting certain scenes.
According to Telugu 360, Fahadh Faasil's scheduling conflicts have been a significant reason for the recent delay. Initially, Fahadh had allotted dates in January and February, but due to Sukumar's changes, those dates were wasted. Given Fahadh's busy schedule and his commitment to other projects, it became difficult for him to provide new dates for Pushpa 2. However, he has recently managed to allocate time for the film. Despite this, the movie's release has been pushed to December 6th, leading to an expected loss of around 40 crores for the makers due to the delay.
Pushpa 2 important crew member quits months before film's release
According to reports, the much-anticipated Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa 2: The Rule, has undergone a significant change in its technical crew. Antony Ruben, the editor who played an important role in the first installment, has stepped down from his position due to scheduling conflicts with his other film projects.
Reportedly, Ruben made every effort to juggle the dates but ultimately had to make the tough decision to exit Pushpa 2, according to Siasat. His departure will surely be a setback for the team as the makers and director will have to look for someone to fill in his shoes. According to the same report, Sukumar acted swiftly and reached out to Naveen Nooli to take up the role.
Nooli, a National Film Award winner for Best Editing for his work on Jersey, is no stranger to Sukumar‘s style. They have previously collaborated on successful projects like Nannaku Prematho and Rangasthalam.
