GOAT OTT Release: Thalapathy Vijay's film GOAT hit theatres today, September 5. The film features Thala in dual roles, alongside Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Ajmal Ameer, and Mohan. Since the movie was announced it has attracted a lot of attention, due to many reasons including the use of de-ageing technology, cast salaries, and plot details. While the Venkat Prabhu-directed film finally enjoys a successful opening, new reports are sparking speculation about its upcoming OTT release.

Thalapathy Vijay’s GOAT will be released on which OTT?

According to media reports, Netflix India has acquired the digital rights to Thalapathy Vijay’s film, and it will be available for streaming on the platform after the end of the theatrical release.

Although the official OTT release date hasn't been confirmed. As estimated, the film is expected to premiere in November which is around eight weeks after its release, and is likely to be available by Diwali.  Moreover, earlier experts predicted, that Thalapathy Vijay's GOAT could earn close to ₹100 crore on its opening day while breaking all the previous records.

GOAT has a budget of a whopping ₹400 crores

In a recent interview, Archana Kalapathi disclosed that the production house spent an astounding ₹400 crore on the film, making it one of the most expensive Tamil films to date.

She defended the film's budget, explaining that a top actor’s salary correlates with the revenue they can generate at the box office. Kalapathi emphasised that their aim is for the film to recoup its costs and more solely through theatrical runs, without relying on revenue from streaming, satellite, or dubbed versions. She also reportedly confirmed that Vijay received ₹200 crore for the project, where he plays both a father and his son. This is reportedly one of the last movies of Thalapathy Vijay amid his political career.
