Kalki 2898 AD: Meet The Actor Who Played Lord Krishna In Prabhas Starrer

Kalki 2898 AD is receiving rave reviews from critics and audiences. Helmed by Nag Ashwin, the movie is a blend of Hindu epic Mahabharata and science fiction, starring an ensemble cast, including Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan. The movie's Maharabharat portion is being appreciated by the movie buffs and they are curious to know who played the role of Lord Krishna.

While all the character's face is clearly shown in the movie, only Lord Krishna's face is never fully shown. Other than his body and hair, his face is always shown in silhouette.

While it was impossible to figure out who played the role of Lord Krishna in the movie, some curious fans decoded that Tamil actor Krishnakumar played the role. Soon after this created a heavy buzz on the Internet and fans started tagging Krishnakumar. Later, the actor confirmed the same on his Instagram Stories. He posted a screengrab from the movie and shared that it was an "absolute honour" to be able to open an "epic" movie. “#kalki2898ad An absolute honour to be able to open an epic film, playing such a special character. Grateful," the text on his post read.

However, there is another actor who contributed to bringing Lord Krishna to life on the silver screen.

Arjun Das lends his voice to Lord Krishna in Kalki 2898 AD

While Krishnakumar must have acted in the movie, but he didn't voice the character. The fans were quick to guess that there were two actors behind this particular character. A fan tagged Arjun on his X handle and lauded him for his contribution and thanked him for taking the experience a notch higher. "Hi @iam_arjundas your voice for Krishna in #Kalki2898AD is lit. It took the experience a notch higher. Thank you so much for doing this. Note: Looking forward for you in #OG,” a fan wrote.

Replying to his fan, Arjun confirmed, "The credit doesn’t belong to me and should go only and only to @nagashwin7 & @SwapnaDuttCh.”

What do we know about Krishnakumar?

The actor made his acting debut in 2010 with the Tamil movie Kadhalagi but rose to fame when he played the role of Chaitnaya aka Chay in Suriya's Soorarai Pottru. He has also appeared in a supporting role in Dhanush starrer Maaran. Next, he will be seen in Akshay Kumar starrer Sarfira which is a Hindi remake of Sorrarai Pottru. In the movie, Krishnakumar will be reprising his role as Chay. The movie is scheduled to release in theatres on July 12.
