Kalki 2898 AD Trailer: Prabhas, Kamal Haasan, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone Come Together
The wait for Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchana nd Kamal Haasan starrer Kalki 2898 AD has been long enough. It will release on June 27.
Kalki 2898 AD release is closing in. After multiple delays, the movie which was greenlit as Project K in 2020, is eyeing a grand theatrical release on June 27. The makers have been leaving no stone unturned to create excitement for the film among the audience.
Kalki 2898 AD trailer introduces new characters
On Friday night, a new trailer of the film was unveiled. The trailer begins with Amitabh Bachchan's character, Ashwathama, talking to Deepika Padukone's character, saying, "They say the whole universe resides within God. But God himself resides in your womb." More characters were introduced in the second trailer.
It sets the stage for one of the biggest world building movies to come out of Indian cinema. With all eyes on Nag Ashwin's vision, it will be interesting to witness how the sci-fi and mythological universes have blended.
Kamal Haasan's character introduced in Kalki 2898 AD Universe
Prior to the film's release, Kalki 2898 AD prequel animated series Bujji & Bhairava has also premiered on Prime Video. In the release trailer, Kamal Haasan's villain character has also been introduced at length. It has been reported that the character will in explored more in the second part of Kalki 2898 AD.
About playing villain in Kalki 2898 AD, Haasan shared, "I always wanted to play a bad man because the bad man gets to do all the good things and have fun. Where the heroes are singing romantic songs and waiting for the heroine, he (bad guy) can just go ahead and do what he wants. I thought I was going to play the bad man so it's going to be fun."
But then, he (Ashwin) wanted it to be different. I'm almost like a sage in the film with a bad idea. On speaking about his look and how thought about it, he shared that, "This get-up took a long time. We travelled to Los Angeles. We failed a couple of times, before arriving on the first acceptable look for the director. I think and hope the audience will react the same way we did when we saw the look."
