Nag Ashwin opens up about Kalki 2898 AD's mythological connection

In an interview with Deadline, Ashwin said that one can take it as "extremely religious" or as the "story of somebody who was born with a lot of power and didn't know what to do". He also emphasised that the movie's plot could be dealt with subjectively without bringing a religious connotation. “Of course, if you tell it in the Indian context there will be a bit of devotion and emotion, but I feel any story can be dealt with subjectively without bringing a religious connotation,” he added.

Nag Ashwin talks about Bujji & Bhairava

The director of Kalki 2898 AD, Nag Ashwin has opened up on the prelude of the film -- the sci-fi series Bujji & Bhairava, and shared that they found a new style, and they didn't compromise on anything -- the writing, lighting, and detailing. This action-packed series features animated versions of Bujji and Bhairava, characters from the film Kalki 2898 AD.

Talking about the prelude, Nag told IANS, “I always felt that it’s more fun to go to films whose characters you already know and are invested in... that's why Marvel works so well... I wanted to see if we could pull that off, even in a small way. When we started this, we didn't know how hard it would be... we started with four episodes... but in almost two years, we could only finish two.”

Apart from Prabhas, the movie also stars Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, Amitabh Bachchan and Disha Patani. The movie is slated to release on June 27 in  English, Telugu, Hindi, and Spanish languages.
