Earlier this month, a report stated that Ranveer Singh has backed out from Rakshas, helmed by Prasanth Varma. It was revealed that the actor and director had some creative differences and now Prasanth is looking for another actor to lead the project. However, a few days ago, Prasanth denied the creative differences rumours. Now, Ranveer and Mythri Movie Makers have released an official statement revealing the reason behind the '83 actor backing out from the project.

Is Rakshas shelved?

Trade Analyst Ramesh Bala took to his X handle to confirm the rumours that Ranveer and Prasanth won't be collaborating for Rakshas. He shared an official statement in which the team revealed that this is "not the ideal time" for this project. They mutually decided to part ways with a possible collaboration in future. "Not the ideal time for this project"; Ranveer Singh, Prasanth Varma and Mythri Movie Makers clarify with the official statement," the post read.

The statement further read, "Both the parties including Mythri Movie Makers agree that everyone's interntions were right to make it happen but something's sometimes aren't meant to be at that time. The team shook hands with a promise to associate in times to come."

No bitterness between Ranveer Singh and Prasanth Varma

In the official statement, both Ranveer and Prasanth spoke positively about each other. Ranveer said, "Prasanth is a very special talent. We met and explored the idea of a film together. Hopefully, we will collaborate on something exciting in the future."

Prasanth, on the other hand, said Ranveer's energy and talent is "rare to find". He added, "We shall manifest our forces combining soon sometime in the future."

Rakshas was going to Prasanth Varma's next directorial movie after HanuMan. It was touted to be a period drama set in the pre-Independence era with a mythological twist and Ranveer's character was said to be one with grey shades.
