'Howdy Modi' not only event on PM's Houston agenda, will meet oil CEOs

Modi is set to have a round table meeting with Oil Sector CEOs in Houston, briefly interact with NRIs and also a photo opportunity with PIOs before Howdy Modi

Prior to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mega 'Howdy, Modi!' event, PM Modi is set to have a round table meeting with Oil Sector CEOs in Houston. His meeting with the CEOs of the Oil Sector is scheduled around 6 p.m IST. Post the round table meeting, at approximately 7:35 p.m IST, Modi is scheduled for a brief interaction with NRIs and also for a photo session with Persons of Indian Origin Card (PIOs). After his interaction, PM Modi will attend the 'Howdy, Modi!' event alongside US President Donald Trump. 50,000 people have already registered for the mega event. Senior Democratic leaders and members of both houses of the USA will also be attending the event.

PM Modi's US schedule

PM Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit the United States of America from September 21 to September 27. On his visit to the US, the PM is also scheduled to address the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York. At the UNGA summit, Modi will showcase the steps taken by India to address the issues of climate change and also and discuss the expectations and aspirations of the international community. He will attend an event on Universal Health Coverage and he has also been invited to speak at the Strategic Responses to Terrorists and violent Extremists Narratives.

"Houston visit will strengthen energy ties," says Modi

A day before his visit, PM Modi in a series of tweets, said that the visit will strengthen energy ties between both the countries. He also said that he will interact with top energy sector CEOs and various groups of Indians based in Houston. The PM will also speak with the top-ranking leaders of the USA. While on his visit to New York on September 24, Narendra Modi will also be conferred with the Gates Global Goalkeeper Goals Award by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF).
