Thanking the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leadership for giving her "opportunity" to contest Assembly seat of Dadri, Babita Phogat on Monday pledged to contest the election on "basic and developmental issues."

"I am sure I will win the election": Babita Phogat

"I am very happy to get such an opportunity to contest from my own place - Dadri. It's a huge honour. I am sure I will win the election as I can connect with the people, they have seen my struggle and relate to me easily. Abhi mujhe bahut kuchh karna hai...  (I have to do a lot of things for them)," Babita Phogat told Republic TV over the phone from her village Dadri.

"But first thing comes first. Mujhe muddo pe ladna hai kisi insaan se nahi (I want to fight on issues not against any individual). I am inspired by Modiji. Main samajik aur arthhik vikas aur unnoti ke muddo pe ladungi (I will contest on socio-economic and developmental issues)" she added.
