Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his happiness after the people of Maharashtra elected the NDA government in the State consisting of BJP and Shiv Sena along with other regional parties. Taking to microblogging site Twitter, PM Modi wrote that people of Maharashtra have blessed the NDA with immense affection. The NDA is humbled to have got the people’s support yet again. The government's work towards Maharashtra’s progress continues and he salutes each and every karyakarta of the BJP, Shiv Sena and the entire NDA family for their hard work.

Uddhav's reminder to BJP

Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday said that it will not move an inch from its agreement with the BJP to share the power in Maharashtra in 50:50 formula for the coalition in the State. He said that while his party relented to BJP's demand to contest from a fewer number of seats, he cannot make any room for any compromise in the 50:50 formula. He said that his statement about the 50:50 formula was a reminder to the BJP.

Aaditya thanked people of Maharashtra

Aaditya Thackeray, who contested from Worli seat in Mumbai, also thanked the people of Maharashtra for their mandate. He also took a dig at the Opposition for their allegation of EVM tampering. "I thank the people of Maharashtra for not falling prey to any tricks, they placed faith in Shivaji. They have given a clear mandate to BJP and Shiv Sena alliance and I am grateful to them for that. I am proud of the people of Maharashtra that they kept democracy alive. They voted with awareness. Their mandate will open everyone's eyes. No one will ask if there was an EVM tampering. There is no doubt that we will work for the people. It is the question of the life of people of Maharashtra," he said.
