“We’ve been waiting for justice to be served for the past 34 years. Thousands of Sikhs were assassinated, so many women were raped, also lost their homes. Such brutality has left a black mark in the Indian history. The streets of Delhi were painted red with the blood of Sikhs, but everybody was denied justice,” Kaur said.

Kaur even questioned the Judiciary for a verdict against the case.

She added, “Why has the Judiciary become dumb and deaf now? Why is it not taking any action? Why is justice being denied for the murders?”

The protesters led by Singh Badal are holding the Congress party responsible. Congress Leaders Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar who are still facing the cases for their alleged criminal conspiracy to contrive the anti-Sikh rights, but no judgment has been passed by the Court yet. This agitation among protestors seeking justice is manifested by marching towards Sonia Gandhi's house.

Manjinder Singh Sirsa, a member of Shiromani Akali Dal said, “Today we are neighboring Sonia Gandhi’s house today. She has been protecting leaders like Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar, and this demonstration is against her actions. Congress should quit protecting those leaders. It’s been 34 years and Rahul Gandhi says no Congress leader is involved in this. Hence, this is a protest against that. Congress wants to protect their leaders and exactly because Congress is responsible.”

Congress is undermining the Akali Dal protest by calling it a political gimmick and refuses to apologise despite the involvement of their leaders.

The protestors are marching forward towards Sonia Gandhi’ house in numbers to demote her actions and silence towards the issue.

Back in August 2018, Congress President had fueled an outrage amongst the Sikh community when he shied away from apologizing for the 1984 Anti-Sikh riots, furthermore stated that he was personally a victim of violence.
