Day after China lifted its hold resulting to designate Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar as a global terrorist by the United Nations Security Committee, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has compared the massive diplomatic victory of the government to the bizarre incident of 'Thain Thain' by Uttar Pradesh police.

On Wednesday, Azhar, the Pulwama terror attack mastermind was designated as a global terrorist under the Sanctions Committee and the UN Security Council released a statement detailing the sanction.

Taking to Twitter following the development, Owaisi compared it with 'thain thain' incident. He targeted Prime Minister Modi by calling the development as a 'cosmetic' action and an action that is not 'tangible' action against terror. He further said that the Jaish-e-Mohammed, as well as its chief, was already a designated, yet no actions were taken against them.

It may be recalled that in bizarre incident months ago, Uttar Pradesh police officers were caught on camera mimicking gunshots during an encounter with the criminals in Sambhal district at midnight. In a video released by ANI, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) of the area was seen shouting words like “thain-thain (gunshot voices)”, maaro (kill) and “ghero (surround)”, while another officer was seen in plain clothes with gun in one hand was pretending to shoot the gun. It was later stated that the UP policemen were struggling to fire at the goons because the cartridges of his revolver got stuck. As a result, they were mimicking the gun sounds to create a feeling of fear for the criminals.

Criticizing further, AIMIM chief went on to say that by declaring the designation as a diplomatic win for the country, India has absolved him of the Pulwama terror attack and terrorism in Kashmir. He said: "National security is not an exercise in event management."
