BJP: Ayodhya verdict has given clear message that Indians are united

The Bharatiya Janata Party has welcomed the landmark and unanimous decision of the Supreme Court of India in the Ram Janmabhoomi case, BJP's press release said.

The Bharatiya Janata Party has welcomed the landmark and unanimous decision of the Supreme Court of India in the Ram Janmabhoomi case, the party said in its official press release on Saturday. BJP termed the judgement on the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid land dispute case as "an example of all-inclusive views representing all sections of the society."

'BJP welcomes and salutes the people of the country' 

The party also welcomed and thanked the Supreme Court, Judges and especially the bench headed by the Chief Justice of India. The statement said, "The BJP welcomes and thanks to the Hon'ble Supreme Court, Hon’ble Judges and especially the bench headed by the Chief Justice of India for this decisive and time-bound decision, which ensured the daily hearing and resolved the matter pending for decades. The Bharatiya Janata Party welcomes and salutes the people of the country who have united and kept the social, cultural and spiritual fabric of the country intact."

It also appealed to the countrymen to welcome the decision wholeheartedly and set an example to save the invaluable legacy of equality, social harmony and peace without paying any attention to rumours. "This decision has given a clear message that we are united and the roots of democracy in India are very strong," the statement added. 

PM Modi on Ayodhya Verdict

Commenting on the Supreme Court’s judgement in the Ayodhya land dispute case on Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stressed that it was imperative for everyone to strengthen the spirit of ‘Rashtra Bhakti’. Observing that the verdict should not be equated in terms of victory and loss, he stressed on maintaining peace and harmony. The PM also highlighted the significance of the judgement by citing that due process was followed in giving ample time and opportunity to all the parties in putting forth their arguments. At the same time, he expressed his pride in the mature conduct of all Indians in the run-up to the verdict. Furthermore, PM Modi hoped that this unity would further the development of India.

The SC verdict

Earlier, the Constitution bench of the SC, comprising of Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, Justices SA Bobde, DY Chandrachud, Ashok Bhushan and S Abdul Nazeer pronounced a unanimous verdict, awarding the entire disputed area to the Hindu parties. It directed the Centre to formulate a scheme within three months which will be responsible for building a temple. On the other hand, the SC ordered that an alternative land of 5 acres in Ayodhya would be given to the Sunni Central Waqf Board for the construction of a mosque.
