Case filed against Pak PM Imran Khan in Bihar court for UNGA speech

Two days after Pakistan PM Imran Khan addressed the United Nations General Assembly in New York and gave a 50-minute anti-India rant in front of the world leaders, a case has been lodged against him in a court in Bihar's Muzaffarpur district on Saturday. As per a news agency, the case has been lodged against the Pakistan PM by lawyer Sudhir Kumar Ojha in Chief Judicial Magistrate's court in Bihar's Muzaffarpur. In the case, the Bihar lawyer has alleged that Imran Khan made objectionable statements, threatening war against India in his UNGA address. 

In his complaint, Ojha charged that Imran Khan has made objectionable statements including a threat of nuclear war against India during his speech in the (UNGA). The lawyer has also charged that Imran Khan's remarks against India's decision to abrogate Article 370 will create disharmony in the country. On the basis of his complaint, the lawyer has also urged the court to order an FIR against the Pakistan PM.

Imran Khan threatens another Pulwama-like attack

In his address at the 74th UNGA at the UN Headquarters, Pakistan PM Imran Khan threatened 'another Pulwama' when restrictions in Kashmir will be completely lifted. Imran Khan went on to fearmonger over the condition in Jammu and Kashmir in the aftermath of abrogation of Article 370. He claimed that there will be "bloodbath" when the curfew in Kashmir will be lifted. 

"This has serious consequences, which is why I am here. What is going to happen when the curfew is lifted will be a bloodbath. Narendra Modi says these troops are for the development and prosperity of Kashmir. What are these 900,000 troops going to do when they (Kashmiris) come out? It will be a bloodbath. What will be the impact on the people of Kashmir?" Imran Khan had said in his speech.

India hits back at Pakistan

In a befitting reply to Pakistan PM Imran Khan over his UNGA address, First Secretary MEA Vidisha Maitra asserted that Indian citizens do not need anyone else to speak on their behalf, reiterating India's position on J&K. India also added that Imran Khan's address appeared like a 'hate speech' at the UNGA, adding that words matter in diplomacy. The First Secretary MEA further posed a set of questions to Imran Khan asking if the Pakistan Prime Minister would deny to the city of New York that he was an open defender of Osama bin Laden?
