In the aftermath of the confrontation between the Madhya Pradesh police and CRPF, following the IT raids conducted in Bhopal, former CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan made a scathing remark, saying that corruption has transformed his peaceful state into a battleground to destroy the Constitution. He also questioned the action by the MP Police to act in midst of Model Code of Conduct.

Adding that the MP government under Kamal Nath is obstructing the investigation, former CM and BJP veteran also claimed:

"India's Income tax department does investigation only on the basis of definite evidence. They are getting hold of the hoarded wealth. Instead of supporting the investigative agency, government and CM is trying to stop the investigation. It is the Constitutional right of the Income-tax department, they investigate and then take action. CRPF was present, even then they sent MP Police force. Why are you fearing? Why are they fearful? What are they fearing? By sending MP police, they have given patronage to corruption".
