Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, deputy CM Manish Sisodia and 11 other AAP (Aam Aadmi Party) leaders have been summoned to the Patiala House Court on Thursday, in the wake of the massive controversy over AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan allegedly assaulting Delhi's Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash, the topmost bureaucrat in the state, at a late-night meeting that took place on February 21, where Kejriwal was also present.

Earlier, all the accused AAP leaders, in connection with the alleged assault case, were summoned by the Patiala House Court on September 18. The court had asked them to appear before the court on October 25, 2018, after taking cognizance of the charge sheet filed against them in the case.

The Aam Aadmi Party engulfed in an unprecedented controversy after Delhi chief secretary Anshu Prakash was allegedly slapped at a meeting at Delhi Chief Minister's residence.

On August 13, the Delhi Police named Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and 11 AAP MLAs in the 1300-page charge sheet that was filed under Sections 186, 323, 332, 342, 353, 504, 506(ii), 120B, 109, 114, 149, 34 and 36 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

While AAP issued a statement rubbishing the allegations put on by the Chief Secretary as baseless and ludicrous, Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash filed a complaint against the AAP leaders in a detailed ordeal of the meeting.

In the letter, he described the courses of the post-midnight meeting where he was allegedly beaten up by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s MLA Amanatullah Khan. In the complaint, Prakash shockingly stated that “one of the MLAs firmly shut the door of the room” and then he was “made to sit in between Amanatullah Khan and another person/MLA on a 3 seater sofa.”

Prakash further stated that he was threatened by AAP MLAs that he would be “confined in the room for the entire night unless” he agreed to “release the TV campaign” of Kejriwal’s government as per the Chief Minister’s will.
