BJP leader Subramanian Swamy has said that opening the Kartarpur Corridor was a 'dangerous move' as it would jeopardize the security in India. He said that Pakistanis should not be allowed to come here. He also said that people should be made to register six months in advance in order to travel across the border.

"The Kartarpur Corridor is a dangerous move, it can be misused as there are no proper checks, just showing passport is not enough. You can get a passport in Chandni Chowk for Rs 250. People should register in six months in advance, and we should not allow people from Pakistan to come here" , he said.

Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan is located across the river Ravi, about four kilometres from the Dera Baba Nanak shrine in Punjab's Gurdaspur district. It was established by the Sikh Guru in 1522.

The Punjab chief minister Amarinder Singh has refused to attend the foundation stone-laying ceremony at the Kartarpur Corridor citing the terror attacks in the state, including the grenade attack in Amritsar. He also warned the Pakistan Army Chief Gen Bajwa against any more attacks in the state.

I am not going to Pakistan because they attack our people. I want to visit Kartarpur Sahib but I will not because Pakistan attacked our people brutally. Emotionally, I want to visit Kartarpur Sahib but I will not go because it's my responsibility that those who attack our people should not be visited. It is my responsibility to maintain peace.
