Mongolian President along with his delegation visits Taj Mahal

The president of Mongolia, Khaltmaagiin Battulga visited the Taj Mahal with his delegation on Saturday, Sep 21. Battulga is on his five-day visit to India.

The president of Mongolia, Khaltmaagiin Battulga visited the Taj Mahal with his delegation on Saturday, September 21. The Mongolian president is on a five-day visit to India and he was received by Union Minister on Thursday. On Friday, Battulga and Prime Minister Narendra Modi jointly unveiled Lord Buddha statue at Gandan Monastery in Mongolia via video-conferencing. Battulga received a ceremonial reception at the Rashtrapati Bhavan and was received by President Ram Nath Kovind. He also visited Rajghat on Friday and paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. 

Inauguration of Buddha Statue  

PM Modi and President of Mongolia, Khaltmaagiin Battulga, on September 20 jointly inaugurated the Lord Buddha statue at Gandan Monastery in Mongolia. Battulga's visit to India is the first state visit by a Mongolian President in the last 10 years. Mongolia has been previously visited by former external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj in April 2018, former home minister Rajnath Singh in June 2018, and former minister of state for home Kiren Rijiju in July 2018. The statue is a symbol of India-Mongolia spiritual partnership and shared Buddhist heritage.

India-Mongolia talks 

Both the countries during their talks reaffirmed that as they share civilisational, historical, spiritual and cultural linkages they will continue to deepen and broaden their Strategic Partnership. They agreed to keep this momentum of reciprocal high-level visits in order to maintain the full potential of the Strategic Partnership. Both sides noted the convergence of views between the two countries on important global and regional security issues and reaffirmed that they will continue the tradition of coordination and support. Furthermore, realising the danger of organized crime, money laundering and financing of terrorism and related crimes to the integrity and stability of the financial sector, the two sides reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining economic security. Both the countries also signed MoUs on space cooperation and disaster management to provide a new dimension to their partnership.
