Online fraud: Nigerian held for duping woman of Rs 71 lakh

The Bhopal city police have arrested a Nigerian national from Delhi for allegedly duping a woman of Rs 71 lakh online, officials said on Sunday.

The Bhopal city police have arrested a Nigerian national from Delhi for allegedly duping a woman of Rs 71 lakh online, officials said on Sunday. The accused, Obuh Marvellous Uche (23), was arrested from Nihal Vihar Colony in the national capital on Saturday, Deputy Inspector General of Police (Bhopal), Irshad Wali, told PTI.

Uche was later brought to Bhopal on a transit remand

"The accused befriended the MP-based woman online and duped her of Rs 71 lakh by promising Rs one crore gift to her," he added. According to him, Uche was later brought to Bhopal on a transit remand. Bhopal Cyber Crime Additional Superintendent of Police, Sandesh Jain, said the accused has been illegally staying in India even as his visa expired last year.
