Pankaj Advani says he's Federer's 'huge fan', recommends films

Responding to Federer's tweet asking for Bollywood movie suggestions, India's snooker player Pankaj Advani called himself a 'huge fan', and recommended 3 films

Responding to Swiss tennis player Roger Federer, India's renowned billiards and snooker player Pankaj Advani stated that he was Federer's "huge fan". Earlier, Federer had asked Twitter users for suggestions on classic Bollywood films to watch. Advani recommended movies like Agneepath, Chak De, and 3 Idiots.

'Agneepath' was an action cum drama film released in 1990, featuring Amitabh Bachchan and Mithun Chakraborty, there was a subsequent remake retaining the same title in 2012. '3 Idiots' was a significant hit at the box office both in India as well as abroad in 2009. On the other hand, Chak De! India was a sports film which hit the screens in 2007, winning many laurels, including the National Award.

Disagreements and multiple suggestions

There were some netizens who felt that Advani's suggested films did not fit into the 'classic' category.

Federer expressed his disbelief about not having watched the film 'Slumdog Millionaire' on being prodded by a user.

Another set of movie suggestions was acknowledged by the Swiss tennis player.

Federer's contribution in the Laver Cup

The Laver Cup, which took place in Geneva recently, is the most entertaining exhibition format tennis has devised to date. Federer was extremely overjoyed in his celebrations as Team Europe won the Laver Cup. He rushed onto the court and congratulated the exhausted young player Sascha Zverev. He sealed Team Europe’s third consecutive Laver Cup victory. Later, Federer stated that it was a dream of his to play the Laver Cup.
