PM Modi takes 2-hour halt at Germany's Frankfurt, on way to Houston

Prime Minister Modi on his way to Houston for the mega Howdy Modi event made a 2-hour technical halt in Frankfurt, Germany, early morning on Friday.

Prime Minister Modi on his way to Houston for the mega Howdy Modi event made a 2-hour technical halt in Frankfurt, Germany, early morning on Friday. During his halt, PM Modi was received by the Indian Ambassador to Germany, Mukta Tomar, and Consul General Pratibha Parkar.

PM Modi's schedule 

On September 22, PM Modi would be holding around table interaction with the CEOs of 16 US Energy companies. Following that, he is scheduled to hold a brief interaction with the Indian community. At 8:30 PM (Indian time), the mega Howdy, Modi! event will take place, which will be attended by US President Donald Trump. 

Houston gearing up for PM Modi

The city of Houston is gearing up for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's upcoming visit and his address at the mega diaspora event 'Howdy Modi' on September 22. In an exclusive interview to Republic TV, lead spokesperson for Texas India forum and Media in-charge of 'Howdy Modi' event, Geetesh Desai said that PM Modi's US visit will strengthen trade ties between US and India. In the build-up to the event, a 200 Howdy Modi mega car rally called the Indo-USA association rally was organized in Dallas on Friday. Billboards all around the city with welcome messages for PM Modi were also seen.

50,000 people estimated to attend

More than 50,000 people are estimated to attend the ‘Howdy Modi’ event, which will feature PM Modi’s speech. The White House Press Secretary confirmed that the US President Donald Trump would also be present on the occasion. The Press Secretary stated that this was a great opportunity to emphasise the strong ties between people of US and India. Later, PM Modi thanked President Trump’s 'special gesture'. He also said that President Trump joining the event was a recognition of the contribution of the Indian community to American society and economy.
