One of the biggest events of Dussehra is the Ravan Dahan. Every city in the country celebrates the victory of good over evil by burning the effigy of Ravan. Pune is no different and has several Ravan Dahan events during the Dussehra. Here are three of the best Ravan Dahans in the city of Pune that you should try your best to visit.

Sahyadri Park Society

For the last 16 years, the Sahyadri Park Society in Kondhwa has been conducting one of the biggest Ravan Dahan in all of Pune. Initiated by one of the residents of the society, the effigy is usually 15 feet tall and full of firecrackers and is decorated beautifully. At nightfall, the effigy is set alight and it goes up in a bright blaze and with the crackers inside it bursting the entire event looks stunning. The Ravan Dahan is conducted every year on the tenth day of Dussehra.

The effigy of Ravan at Khadki is one of the biggest Ravan Dahans in the entire country. The effigy is built to be 40 feet tall and is one of the best looking Ravan effigies in the entire city of Pune. The event is attended by thousands of people every year. The sky is also set ablaze alongside the effigy with a barrage of multicoloured rockets. The event is a must-visit for anyone who wants to experience one of the best looking Ravan Dahans in Pune. Khadki Cantonment is near the ACP Office on the Mumbai-Pune Express Highway. 

Pimpri Chinchwad

The giant Ravan effigy of Nehrunagar, in Pimpri Chinchwad, is another highly acclaimed Ravan Dahan event that hundreds of people go to watch. The event also includes fireworks and has a singing and dancing event after the burning. The effigy is set on fire every year on Dussehra. The event also has a Navratri celebration next to it. So if you want to go to an amazing Ravan Dahan, consider going to Pimpri Chinchwad.
