Shyam Ramsay passes away in a Mumbai hospital at 67, due to pneumonia

Shyam Ramsay, one of the seven Ramsay Brothers known for their cult horror movies passed away at the age of 67 on Wednesday morning in a hospital in Mumbai

Shyam Ramsay, one of the seven Ramsay Brothers known for their cult horror movies passed away at the age of 67 on September 18. According to reports, Ramsay was admitted to the hospital in Mumbai around two to three days ago. Reports revealed that he was suffering from pneumonia. He is survived by two daughters, Sasha and Namrata.

Saddened by his death, several people on Twitter have expressed their condolences.

Ramsay's career

Shyam Ramsay was considered as the brains behind the Ramsay brothers group. He made films such as 'Ghutan' in 2007, a comedy-horror film called 'Bachao' in 2010, and his latest release 'Neighbours' in 2014. He has directed films such as 'Puraani Haveli' and 'Tahkhaana'. The Ramsay brothers have made several low-budget films in the 1970s and 1980s of the horror genre in Hindi that featured zombies, vampires, reanimated corpses and so on. The films were known for their horror and erotica genres. Some of their films include Purana Mandir, Veerana, Do Gaz Zameen Ke Neeche, Band Darwaza, Purani Haveli, Andhera. The last film that the Ramsay brothers have made was 'Koi Hai' in 2017. Further, according to reports, Shyam Ramsay and his brother Tulsi Ramsay were responsible for the Indian Television series- the Zee Horror Show. The show ran for almost seven years. Tulsi Ramsay died in December 2018 at the age of 77. 

According to reports, director Shyam Ramsay's funeral will be held at Vile Parle crematorium on Wednesday.
