A Janata Dal Secular Legislative Party meet will be held at Hassan district in Karnataka post 5pm. The state PWD Minister has confirmed about the meeting. All JD(S) MLAs will be present for the meeting. The meeting will be held amid the horse trading charges hurled by JD(S) at the BJP.
Speaking on the JDLP meeting, Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy said, “All the MLAs will attend the JDLP meet. Even those who were speculated to go to Mumbai will also be present.”
Political war between BJP-JDS escalated after the JDS alleged horse trading by the BJP. As per reports, the crucial JD (S) Legislature Party meeting is being held to address the issue of alleged poaching moves of the BJP. The Karnataka Chief Minister is said to have asked all the party MLAs and MLCs to attend the meeting. Kumaraswamy is likely to warn the party legislators not to fall prey to the BJP’s relentless efforts to poach them.
The Karnataka CM while speaking to reporters also reacted on BJP’s complaint to Karnataka Governor against him.
“I'm happy. I will reply to their complaint. If the Governor demands a clarification I will reply to him. What wrong did I do? Like Yeddyurappa, did I ask people to set fire? Earlier, Yeddyurappa had said people must set the state on fire. I did not make any such statement. In my speech I said revolt which means protest. Is protesting wrong or undemocratic? People will decide if it is right or wrong,” said the Karnataka CM.
The BJP had asked the state Governor to take action against Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy for asking people to wage a "war" against the saffron party. They also filed a complaint with the Karnataka DGP, seeking action on the ground of sedition against HD Kumaraswamy.
Kumaraswamy had in his speech asked people to "rise in revolt" against the BJP.
Earlier, the JD(S) workers protested against the BJP and former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa for attempting to destabilise the government and complaining to the Governor.
Meanwhile, the Congress Legislature Party meeting will be held on September 25 in Bengaluru.
