Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Mohan Reddy-led cabinet appoints five deputy CMs belonging to five communities, a first in the country

In a record move by the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy-led state Cabinet, YSRCP MLA Mohammed Mustafa Shaik, on Friday has confirmed that the state will have five Deputy Chief Ministers, speaking to ANI.

In a record move by the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy-led state Cabinet, YSRCP MLA Mohammed Mustafa Shaik, on Friday has confirmed that the state will have five Deputy Chief Ministers, speaking to ANI.

"There will be five Deputy Chief Ministers in Andhra Pradesh cabinet. The Deputy Chief Ministers will be one each from Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Backward Castes, Minority, and Kapu community," Shaik said adding that Reddy will prove to be the best CM in India.

Earlier in the day, Jaganmohan Reddy had called on a YSRCP legislative party meeting, which was attended by all the elected party MLAs at his camp office in Tadepalli, Amaravati. All the 150 MLAs of the YSRCP were present in the meeting.

The YSR Congress Party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was sworn-in as the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh at 12:23 PM on May 30 after sweeping the state with an overwhelming public mandate in the presence of over 40,000 supporters at Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium in Vijayawada.

The ceremony was attended by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, DMK chief M K Stalin, and Puducherry Health Minister Malladi Krishna Rao as special guests. Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali, Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivasa Reddy, minister Talasani Srinivasa Yadav also attended the swearing-in ceremony.

On May 23, YSRCP decimated Chandrababu Naidu’s Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in Andhra Pradesh in 2019 Lok Sabha polls and Assembly elections, by winning 151 seats out 175-seater AP assembly leaving on 23 seats for TDP and only 3 Lok Sabha seats.
